EKU Counseling Center


The EKU Counseling Center provides a wide range of mental health services to support student emotional health and wellbeing. Services include brief individual therapy, therapy and support groups, mental health skill-building workshops, crisis support services, wellness spaces, and much more. Services are confidential, following Kentucky laws and ethical guidelines. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all persons who seek our services.

EKUCC offers mental health support and crisis services to EKU students, or those concerned about a student, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends, evenings, holidays, and during university closures. To access EKUCC after hours mental health support and crisis services, please call 859-622-1303.

Wellness Rooms & Sensory Spaces

EKUCC is proud to present our Relaxation Room! Located next to the Counseling Center in Whitlock (room 567), the Relaxation Room is open M-F, 8-4:30 pm. You’ll have access to a variety of relaxing equipment (VR headsets, massage chairs, weighted blankets, UV lightboxes and more) and a borrowing library which is free to all EKU students. This is a space for students to come and literally relax-use the space as you need.

  • You want to try different relaxation tools
  • You have a self-help resource you want to share with the EKU community

The EKU Student Stress Management Center is an interactive sensory-support space that offers students a dedicated area to rest, decompress and refocus during the day.

El Centro offers a quiet room with decompression supplies for hands-on crafts to help aid with stress or down time for students. Students can access all materials upon request and availability.
