Veterans Upward Bound

The Eastern Kentucky University Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) Program is an academic, college-preparatory program funded by the United States Department of Education as one of the federal TRiO programs. Funded since 2022, we currently serve students in Fayette, Madison, Rockcastle, Pulaski, Laurel, Clay, McCreary, Whitley, and Knox counties.

VUB provides help with veterans benefits, college admission, financial aid assistance, access to college visits, monthly veterans lunch events, and other academic support services. We also help our participants with issues specific to being a veteran such as help with transitioning back home, help understanding how your benefits can be used, and help navigating the many requirements and processes involved with setting up and maintaining a civilian life.
