EKU Celebrates Another Record-Breaking Giving Day, Raising More Than $1.12 Million

Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) celebrated its seventh annual Giving Day on April 22, marking another record-breaking year of support for students, programs and initiatives across the university. EKU exceeded its goal of 2,134 donors, reaching 2,485 total donors and raising more than $1,120,000. Support came from people across the country, with gifts received from all 50 states.

“The support shown on Giving Day reflects the strength of the EKU community,” said EKU President David McFaddin. “It’s inspiring to see alumni, employees, students, families and friends invest in the future of EKU, and it shows what we can accomplish together as One Eastern.”

Of the $1,120,000 raised on Giving Day, over $425,000 was allocated to scholarships, with the remaining funds supporting various programs across campus.

Highlights from the 2026 Giving Day include:

  • College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences received the most donors among colleges
  • EKU Matter of Pride Football Boosters had the highest number of donors in athletic funds
  • Chi Omega led Greek organizations in number of donors
  • The Eastern Fund, supporting highest-priority needs of the university, received the most donors among all funds
  • Every state in the United States had at least one donor, making the map maroon

“Every dollar given to EKU represents tangible support that will create opportunities and transform lives,” said Krista Rhodus, EKU senior director of annual giving and stewardship. “This year’s Giving Day was a success thanks to the generosity of our Colonel community, and we are so grateful.”
