Lillian Hall was born and raised in Winchester, Kentucky. She played euphonium in the school band for eight years and participated in the marching band. She was also a member of 4-H and FFA organizations throughout high school. At Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), she is currently pursuing a degree in forensic chemistry with a minor in fire, arson and explosion investigation.
Hall decided to come to EKU because it is both affordable and close to her home. The fact that the forensic program is FEPAC (Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission) accredited was also a significant reason she chose EKU.
At EKU, Hall is a member of the Honors program and a student employee in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Dean’s office. She received an EKU merit scholarship as well as scholarships from the Taylor Farm Auction Company and Scholarship 360. She is also involved in the Newman Center, a ministry of St. Mark’s parish that serves the students, faculty, and staff of EKU.
When asked what she has learned the most during her time here so far, she said “I’ve learned a lot about time management while at EKU. I have learned to balance school, work, and my social life.” After earning her degree, she hopes to work for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), a federal law enforcement agency tackling violent crime, illegal firearms, explosives, and arson on their National Response Team.
