Fourteen Eastern Kentucky University students won awards at the Kentucky Academy of Science 2015 Annual Meeting Nov. 13-14, at Northern Kentucky University. More than 800 scientists and graduate and undergraduate students attended.

EKU winners in the Graduate Research Competition category were: Kari Dupler, second place, Richmond; Allison Durr, second place, Independence; Brittany Rice, second place, Charlotte, North Carolina; and Benjamin Shaw, third place, Lexington.

Winners in the Undergraduate Research Oral Presentation category were; Jacob Robin, first place, Paris; Laura Mims, first place, Frankfort; Andrew Schlereth, second place, Annville, Pennsylvania; and Elijah Wolfe, second place, Manchester.

Winners in the Undergraduate Research Poster category were: Laura Norris, first place, Somerset; Cassie Simpson, first place, Fairfield; Jamie Farrar, first place, Richmond; Glen Kalisz, second place, Lexington; Ryan Donkin, second place, Berea; and Shannon Layman, third place, Shepherdsville.
