Thirty-six artists from 20 states will be showcased in Eastern Kentucky University’s National Juried Chautauqua Art Exhibition Jan. 25-Feb. 19 in Giles Gallery.

The theme for this year’s Chautauqua series is “What If?”

Artists, presenting in a variety of media, are Robert Bubp, Madison Cowles, David Gregory, Anne Havel, Kenneth Hayden, Sofie Hodara, Desire Hough, John James, Kathryn Jill Johnson, Jana Kappeler, Jason Kishell,

Kent Krugh, Trelee MacAnn, Shona Macdonald, Michael Marlitt, David Marquez, Layl McDill, Ruth Simon McRae, Elizabeth Mesa-Gaido, Maurice Mufson, Andre Ortiz, Joseph Ostraff,

Davide Prete, Gabrielle Roach, Shaun Roberts, Kris Sanford, Barbara Simcoe, Jason Stout, Chelsea Strange, David Stratton, Travis Townsend, Rowena Trapp, Jennifer Weigel and Rick Yasko.

The juror for the exhibit is John Begley, Louisville artist, curator and former gallery director. Begley recently retired from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville. He now works as an independent artist, maintaining an active individual studio practice that combines a variety of his interests and training, including drawing, printmaking, book arts, installations and intermedia combinations.

A reception will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
