2023 Homecoming

EKU came to life in a spectacle of maroon and white during Homecoming 2023. The festivities kicked off on Thursday, Oct. 12, when EKU students came together for the annual Colonel Corn Roast in Powell Plaza, followed by Eastern’s Got Talent—displaying an array of talented students. On Friday, Main Street transformed into a lively canvas, where EKU’s legacy paraded proudly through town. Moving to Water Street, the HOCO Block Party echoed the enthusiasm of EKU’s passionate community.

At the heart of the festivities was Saturday’s Homecoming Tailgate, where alumni, students and fans converged under a canopy of EKU banners and tents, all sharing anticipation for the big game. Then, at Roy Kidd Stadium, EKU colors blazed and every touchdown united generations of EKU enthusiasts at the Homecoming football game. Carson England and Ainye Rogers were crowned Homecoming king and queen, symbolizing the true spirit of EKU’s dedicated student body. EKU Football put on a spectacular display, defeating Tarleton State with a score of 41-35 after both teams fought it out in overtime.
