Mental Health Wellness

  • SNAP Benefits
  • Check financial eligibility through the screening tool on Kynect.
  • College students also must meet different eligibility requirements. See those requirements on the SNAP for Students page. Note that meal plans that cover the majority of your meals (listed as 10 meals a week on the Clarification on Treatment of Meal Plans page) will make college students ineligible. The $300 flex plan does not make you ineligible.

    Central Bank provides financial literacy resources free to all students.
  • Money Management Course
    EKU’s FIN 201 course is a Personal Money Management course that covers insurance, family budgeting, income taxes, elementary investment principles, and more. This course can be taken by any student in any major.

Student Employment

    EKU’s Student Employment Program offers students unique job opportunities and student work-study positions start at $8.00 per hour and may range up to $18.00+ per hour

Student Parents

Resources for students who have children or other dependents include the Center for Student Parents, state and federal programs, and a directory for lactation spaces on campus.

  • Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass (Confidential) Located in Richmond, Lexington, Danville, and Georgetown, Ampersand provides information about safety and medical care, counseling, advocacy, support groups, workshops, and more. They also provide in-person support to survivors who are hospitalized after an assault. To talk to a crisis counselor 24/7, call 800-656-HOPE (4673). To call the Lexington support line, call 859-253-2511.
  • National Sexual Assault Hotline/RAINN (Confidential)
    The National Sexual Assault Hotline provides basic information for survivors or friends/family of survivors as well as short-term crisis intervention and support and other resources. Call 800-656-HOPE (4673) or for more information, go to the RAINN website.

  • Greenhouse 17 (Confidential)
    Greenhouse 17 is an advocacy agency that provides trained crisis counselors to help those harmed by intimate partner abuse. They also provide emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, and information about a variety of resources. Located in Fayette County, KY.   • Love Is Respect (Confidential)
    A national organization that provides advice regarding a personal relationship or that of a loved one. Call 866-331-9474 or 866-331-8453 or text “loveis” to 22522.
  • National Domestic Violence Hotline (Confidential)
    NDV provides immediate support to help victims find safety.

Campus Transportation

  • Big E Transit provides shuttles around campus for students as well as a weekend route to shopping centers in Richmond. See the route schedule or download the Big E Transit App for Apple or Google Play. Choose “Big E Transit” from the system list.

Madison County Transportation
