Scholarship Criteria: Prefer student in the football program, a graduate student who was a football player.

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate with 3.0 cum GPA, Biology major, Biology Dept. selects the recipient.

Education and Applied Human Sciences

Pam Powell Endowed Scholarship for Graduate Students in Education

Scholarship Criteria: Pursuing a graduate degree in education. Preference is given to students enrolled in Curriculum and Instruction. Preference is given to students from Madison County and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Need to show dedication to the teaching profession through work history.

 

 

Dr. Charles R. and Jamie D. Lamb Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student majoring in MA Education with an emphasis in Library Science; financial need.

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student in College of Education, 3.6 GPA.

Stella Thompson Lutes Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student, KY resident, majors in College of Education, 3.0 GPA, renewable.

 

 

Carroll McGuffey Scholarship Endowment for Teaching of Mathematics

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student in the field of mathematics with an emphasis in teaching; born in KY with preference to residents of Clinton, Wayne, Cumberland, or Russell counties.

 

 

Joe David and Alice Martin Endowed Graduate Education Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Must take at least 6 hours per semester to be eligible; must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA; preference given to students who are full-time elementary or secondary teachers pursuing a Masters or Doctoral degree in Education at EKU; preference is given to students with financial need via the FAFSA.

Franz-Myers Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: For part-time or full-time grad students earning a MA Education degree with library science emphasis; renewable for 2nd year with a 3.0 GPA.

Scholarship Criteria: Part-time graduate student; majoring in Education or Special Education; minimum 3.0 GPA.

Dr. Leslie (Les) Charles Ramsdell Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: For students pursuing a Master’s Degree in School Health Education in the College of Health Sciences or College of Education; second preference for students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health with a school health education option; remain in good academic standing; first preference to students born in Vermont, then New Hampshire, and then a Kentucky resident from EKU service region; maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA; demonstrate financial need via FAFSA.

Scholarship Criteria: Family & Applied Human Sciences  Roberta B. Hill Memorial Scholarship. Graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA; Family & consumer sciences major, financial need, priority given to non-traditional students; recipient selected by EKU Dept. of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student; can be a part-time student, government major.

Dr. Charles H. Gibson, Jr. Graduate School Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: For first-year graduate students who have earned an undergraduate degree from EKU; maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA; demonstrate financial need by completing FAFSA. The scholarship applicant must be a resident of Eastern Kentucky University’s service region with preference given to Madison County residents. To learn more, please watch this video.

David Allgier Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: For a current graduate student enrolled in the Occupational Therapy MS degree program, and in good academic standing with the University at the time of the award; preference will be given to graduate level students enrolled in Level II Fieldwork or doctoral placement.

F. Douglas Scutchfield Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student majoring in a public health area. The student must have outstanding leadership skills, career potential, academic achievement, and financial need; the student must be from Floyd County, Kentucky, or have significant ties to that county.

Gladys N. Masagatani Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Preference given to students enrolled full-time in the Occupational Therapy Program; Maintain minimum 3.5 GPA.

Joy Anderson Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Master’s degree student in occupational therapy with a 3.0 minimum GPA. Must submit to OT search committee: resume, statement of professional goals, 1-2 page essay.

Judy Noe Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: For Graduate students that are Baptist Health Medical Center employees or their children (until age 26) who are enrolled full-time in an EKU degree program; remains in good standing with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA; can be renewed for a maximum of eight semesters if the recipient remains in good academic standing.

Rebecca B. Pelfrey Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Preference given to applicants who are second-year graduate-level occupational therapy students (or otherwise deserving occupational therapy applicants if this criterion cannot be met); Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0; Non-traditional students at least 25 years old.

Anthem Rural Medicine Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Matriculated native Kentuckian; commit to practice as a primary care provider in rural/underserved areas in the market for a minimum of three years post-graduation; enrolled in EKU Rural Health Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN) program or equivalent; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Marshall Pediatric Therapy Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Preference given to a graduate occupational science/occupational therapy student; doing fieldwork in pediatrics; good academic standing; demonstrating financial need via FAFSA; 1-2 page essay is required describing personal and professional goals, experience working with children, leadership skills; two letters of recommendation.

Baptist Health Richmond Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Criteria: Kentucky resident, 2.5 GPA, majoring in the allied health field at EKU, junior, senior, or master’s classification, renewable for a maximum of eight semesters.

Justice, Safety, and Military Science

Carole Garrison Criminal Justice Endowed Research and Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Full-time graduate student at EKU in good academic standing (both at the time of awarding and during the term of the award). Be a Criminal Justice. Police Studies or Corrections major (or future equivalent). A single parent of a dependent child. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Scholarship Criteria: For graduate students pursuing a Master of Science degree in Police Studies or Criminal Justice; 3.5 GPA required; completion of FAFSA.

Martha Ruth Burton Perry and Hollis Raymond Perry Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Full-time or part-time students; History M.A. candidate; completed 0-24 hours toward M.A. or 0 completed hours if admitted to the M.A. program; cumulative GPA of 3.0; awarded via History Department.

Thomas H. Appleton Jr. Scholarship in Library Science

Scholarship Criteria: Must be a full-time Kentucky resident; can be a part-time graduate student studying the field of Library Science, History, English, or a related field; have a 2.7 GPA or higher; provide a letter of recommendation and personal statement demonstrating their commitment and interest in the field of choice; should also address any work history in library setting.

Scholarship Criteria: Graduate student, vocal performing arts major, 2.75 GPA, a strong desire to perform professionally; requires an audition before a scholarship committee consisting of Music Department faculty and others as assigned by Music Department Chair.

Scholarship Criteria: For new and current part-time students currently serving on active duty in the US Armed Forces; for students who have served active duty in the US Armed Forces and received an Honorable Discharge or whose parent(s) has/have served on active duty in the US Armed Forces and received an honorable discharge; for students whose spouse/parent(s) is/are currently serving on active duty in US Armed Forces; for students who are currently serving in the National Guard or Reserves.

Harry Smiley Memorial Graduate Award

Scholarship Criteria: For graduate students who have completed at least one semester in the M.S. Chemistry program with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Preference is for students from rural KY counties.

Ann Daniel Chapman Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria: Full-time graduate students in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need or be academically exceptional students. Strong desire to study abroad in London during the summer. The recipient must be accepted to the London Study Abroad Summer Program and provide a copy of the Program’s acceptance letter to the scholarship office.

Scholarship Criteria: Full-time graduate student in an EKU degree program, in good academic standing, minimum 3.25 GPA, submit a brief essay outlining academic accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, & professional goals.

Scholarship Criteria: For graduate students from Bracken, Campbell, Mason, or Pendleton who have maintained a 2.75 minimum cumulative GPA over the previous two years.
