PRESS Graduate Students Dip Their Toes Into Service

An image of Eastern Kentucky University Department of PRESS students. The former Department of Recreation and Park Administration was known for all things services; service learning, community service, professional service, etc. The newly formed Department of Parks, Recreation, Exercise and Sport Science (PRESS), is off to a great start of taking the baton and carrying on the tradition. On Saturday, March 25th, PRESS graduate students joined with the Special Olympics to help host a swim meet for local athletes at Asbury University.

In the words of Dr. Adams-Blair, “It was an honor spending the day with beautiful, joyful athletes and laughing with them as they compete!”

If you want to follow the lead of our students as they put professional skills to work, give back to the community, seek opportunities to grow and serve, check out Special Olympics KYĀ for opportunities to volunteer!
