Merit Scholarships for Out-of-State Students

Looking to go away for college? The Out-of-State Discount Program at Eastern Kentucky University offers undergraduate students an amazing opportunity.

Attend EKU for less than attending many schools in your home state.

All undergraduates from any U.S. state are eligible for the Out-of-State Discount Program. When combined with EKU’s affordable housing rates and meal plans, your total cost of attendance is lower than many schools in your home state, allowing you to pay less for an educational experience that is second-to-none.

Get rewarded for your high school academic achievement! In addition to EKU’s discounted out-of-state tuition rate of $11,120 per year, merit scholarships make EKU even more affordable. Based on a 4.0 high school GPA and standardized test scores, annual awards range from $1,000 to $7,000 for first-time freshmen coming to EKU from out of state.

Students must be admitted by the deadline and accept their awards to remain eligible. Awards are renewable for up to 8 terms, given they maintain full-time, continuous enrollment, and meet the GPA requirement.

Scholarship Name Eligibility Requirements Annual Award

After being accepted into EKU, you will automatically be considered for our merit scholarships. No additional application is required.

Please note: If you completed your GED and do not have a high school GPA, your GED test score will be converted to the comparable GPA listed below for merit scholarship consideration.
