The Kentucky All “A” Classic returns to Eastern Kentucky University and Richmond this week.

Tickets for the statewide event, to be held Jan. 24-28 in Alumni Coliseum, are on sale online at EKUsports.com (select “Tickets” and then “All ‘A’ Classic”) and will go on sale at the Coliseum ticket window on Wednesday, Jan. 24, one hour before the first game, which tips off at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $10 per session. Public parking will be available in front of Alumni Coliseum. To see the fields of participants, visit allaclassic.org and select the statewide brackets.

The 120 smallest schools in the Commonwealth vied to compete in the annual tournament, and the surviving 32 teams (16 boys’ and sixteen girls’ squads) will compete in the Classic. The five-day event is expected to attract more than 30,000 people to the Richmond campus and surrounding communities.

Eastern hosted the All-A Classic from 1991 to 2011. The Frankfort Convention Center has hosted the event the past six years.

The All “A” Classic also features a cheerleading competition among the participating squads.

Motorists should expect heavy traffic and possible delays near the Coliseum throughout the tournament.
