Thanks to excellent National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rates and great independent reviews, Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Nursing has been recognized as the #1 Best RN to BSN online program in Kentucky by RNtoMSN.org. EKU’s ranking came ahead of both Northern Kentucky University and the University of Louisville’s online RN-BSN programs.

According to RNtoMSN.org, “Some EKU nursing alumni said they absolutely loved the EKU experience.” The ranking also mentions tuition for the 100-percent online RN-BSN being the same for all EKU Online students, regardless of residency status. Furthermore, with the program’s commitment to convenience, students can complete clinical projects in their home communities.

"Our fully online RN-BSN program was designed for students working full time, yet desired to advance their nursing education,” said Dr. Brooke Bentley, chair and professor of EKU’s School of Nursing. “Our program allows students some flexibility yet maintains the rigor and quality found in all of our nursing programs."

Working nurses can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through EKU’s RN-BSN program with just 29 credit hours. The CCNE-accredited program prepares nurses to excel in the workplace or a graduate nursing program and can be completed in as little as 18 months.

In addition to the RN-BSN program, EKU’s School of Nursing offers associate, baccalaureate, graduate and doctoral nursing degree programs.

The recognition by RNtoMSN.org adds to a growing list of accolades for EKU Online and the School of Nursing. Last year, EKU was named the best RN-BSN program in the southeast region of the United States by Nursing Process. A team of faculty and staff earned the 2019 Blackboard Catalyst Award in Teaching and Learning for the exemplary design, quality and performance of the EKU Online rural health family nurse practitioner master’s program. Additionally, EKU Online has been named one of the best online colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. To learn more about EKU’s School of Nursing, visit nursing.eku.edu.

RNtoMSN.org, a project by Degree Prospects, LLC, provides information and resources about continuing education opportunities for working nurses. The goal of RNtoMSN.org, according to their website, is to “provide a comprehensive, easy-to-use website for registered nurses researching academic degrees.” The focus of the website includes RN-BSN and RN-MSN educational opportunities, including school reviews, program options, costs, length and more.
