EKU’s Bachelor in Paralegal Science was recently ranked fourth in the country for its accelerated degree program, according to the Bachelor’s Degree Center, a website dedicated to helping students find the best educational program best suited to their financial, educational and personal situation.

The Center ranks programs according to student satisfaction, salary of graduates and program costs.

“Students can complete the degree without coming to the Richmond campus,” said Dr. Lynnette Noblitt, chair of the Department of Government. “Most courses are asynchronous so they can work any time or day. Students who master the time management and organizational skills to work online become excellent paralegals.”

Eastern students take their courses in accelerated eight-week terms where they will be equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the law balanced with a liberal arts education. The program meets guidelines established by the American Bar Association, allowing students to sit for the Certified Kentucky Paralegal Exam.

Program graduates work at law firms, courthouses, insurance companies, and corporations across the United States, Noblitt said.
