Summer 9 Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance

Summer is a great time to catch up or get ahead on coursework. Now, it’s easier than ever to finance a summer semester at EKU.

A payment plan for Summer 2024 only is available for EKU summer students, enabling them to pay their tuition and fees in three installments over the course of three months. Additionally, the $25 service charge to enroll in an installment payment plan has been waived.

Read more about installment payment plans.

Students who are Federal Pell Grant recipients may also be eligible to pay for summer sessions with Pell funds.

Students may receive up to 150 percent of their scheduled Pell award during a single academic year. If students are full time in spring and fall, they can still receive up to a full-time Pell award during the summer semester. This requires taking at least six credit hours during the summer semester.

Students should keep in mind that the Federal Pell Grant is limited to 12 full-time semesters of awards. Once students reach that limit, they can no longer receive the Pell Grant, so they should carefully make sure all courses they take apply toward graduation.

Questions about Pell Grant eligibility or other financial aid options can be directed to Big E Central.

Students who have not claimed all of their loan eligibility may also be able to apply those funds to EKU Summer term. Contact Big E Central for more information.
