Scott Sedgwick graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Management. Having worked in the golf business throughout his high school and college years, he quickly realized he wanted to remain in the industry and became a PGA Member (1995).
After working several years as an Assistant Golf Professional at Terrace Park Country Club in Cincinnati, he received his first Head Golf Professional job in 1996 at Columbia Country Club in South Carolina. After four seasons at Columbia, Scott accepted the Head Golf Professional job at Louisville Country Club in 1999. This year marks Scott’s 21st season at Louisville Country Club.
Over the last 20 years as a Head Professional in Kentucky, Scott has received numerous awards including the Jr Golf Leader Award (2003), Merchandiser of the Year Award (2004, 2016), The Bill Strausbaugh Award (2008, 2012, 2018), and Golf Professional of the Year KY Section (2012). Scott also received his PGA Certifications in Operations, Retail, and Instruction in 2007.
One of Scott’s greatest joys is to teach young golfers the game of golf. He has taught many high school and college golfers throughout his career and takes pride in the fact that he has contributed to helping them achieve their goals.
Scott considers it his greatest duty in his Golf Professional career to help advance the Assistant Golf Professionals he has employed to the next level in their careers. Scott has enjoyed his time at EKU as a guest instructor and helping young Golf Professionals through EKU’s Mentor Program. He looks forward to serving on the EKU Advisory Board.
