CLASS houses the departments of English; Government; History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies; Language and Cultural Studies, Anthropology, and Sociology; Psychology; Social Work. The Institute for Collaborative and Creative Arts houses the schools of Art and Design, Communication, and Music.

Interdisciplinary Programs include academic minors in African/African-American Studies, Appalachian Studies, Asian Studies, Applied Creative Thinking, and Women and Gender Studies. Many of our programs also include service-learning courses.

Center for Career and Cooperative Education
Professional opportunities in public history have grown dramatically over the last few decades, and several of our alumni are now pursuing careers in applied fields ranging from museum work to archive management. Our undergraduate and graduate programs alike offer opportunities to gain professional experience in these fields while pursuing your degree.

For our undergraduates, college credit for applied professional experiences in history are arranged through the Center for Career and Co-Operative Education office. To inquire about or arrange for credit via HIS 349 (Cooperative Education: History), please contact Dr. Tim Smit.

Roundtable Events
The Philosophy and Religious Studies Program hosts regular roundtable discussions led by faculty members. These events are open to all students, faculty, staff, and the public: all are welcome and encouraged to participate in the discussion!
