Undergraduate Degree Options
The School of Music offers several undergraduate degree options including the Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Bachelor of Music with an Emphasis in Music Industry, Music Performance, and Music Theory and Composition. In addition to preparing students for careers in music, the discipline acquired in meeting the demands of musical performance may also serve as an excellent background for persons desiring to pursue careers in other fields. The School offers a music minor consisting of piano, music theory, music history, and electives. Other degree options including current curriculum guidelines are also available upon request. The degree programs offered by the EKU School of Music are accredited by The National Association of Schools of Music, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Graduate Degree Options (Master of Music)
The EKU School of Music engages graduate students in a variety of learning opportunities, providing a contextual understanding of the historical, stylistic, and theoretical aspects of music. Students will leave with the artistic, technical and collaborative skills to create, perform and teach a variety of music. The National Association of Schools of Music, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education accredit our music degrees.
Our primary functions are to prepare music specialists for service in the public schools, to prepare students for careers in private studio teaching, concert performance, professional ensemble performance, teaching in colleges and universities, and other aspects of professional musicianship including the music industry.
The School of Music offers three concentration options in the Master of Music program which include:
