Safety and Advocacy

EKU has a variety of safety and advocacy resources including the Campus Safety office, Green Dot training, local resources to support victims and survivors of domestic and relationship violence, and how to update your personal information in myEKU.

Call EKU Police at 859-622-1111 or 911 for emergency situations or to make a report. If you call 911 from a cell phone, you may be connected with Madison County Dispatch. Specify if you are on campus, and they will notify EKU Police.

The EKU S.A.F.E. app is a public safety app for EKU. It provides safety information, communication with EKU Police, geolocation features, safety escort for walking to locations, mobile BlueLight alarm, ways to report a tip, campus maps, emergency plans, support resources, WorkAlone check-in services, and more.

Student Assistance and Intervention Team (SAIT)

  • The SAIT engages in proactive and collaborative approaches to identifying, assessing, and responding to concerns about students who struggle academically, socially, emotionally, psychologically, or behaviorally. The Team promotes individual student support while prioritizing the safety of the campus community.

Emergency Notifications

EKU uses the RAVE service to provide emergency notifications to the campus community. This system provides a text message to your cell phone, email notification, and voice call or audio message to your phone. It also is set up for indoor notifications for computer pop-ups on campus computers, posts on EKU websites, and has an outdoor notification system through sirens.

Current EKU employees and registered students are automatically enrolled in Rave Mobile Safety emergency notifications. Review your contact information in RAVE by going to myEKU and locating the RAVE Emergency Notifications link under the EKU Links card.

Other community members and visitors may text to opt in by texting “EKUAlerts” to 67283 (MRAVE), 226787 (CAMPUS), 78015, or 77295.

Student Conduct and Community Standards

EKU’s Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards promotes student success by upholding the Student Code of Conduct, advocating for community standards, and maintaining a fair conduct system that addresses the diverse needs of the individual and community.
