Explore Pre-Law

Applicants to law school are accepted from all majors. You should focus on a major that interests you. There are no prerequisite courses for entry into law school, but courses that emphasize critical thinking and enhance problem-solving, reading, and writing skills may help you perform better on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).

Students typically apply for law school in the fall semester of senior year, and must take the LSAT prior to being considered for admission to law school. Thus it is important to plan ahead! Students interested in law school are strongly encouraged to email our pre-law advisor thomas.parker@eku.edu as early as possible in your college career to plan ahead for the LSAT and application process.

For more information regarding pre-law visit the EKU Mock Trial website, the EKU undergraduate catalog, and the National Association for Law Placement website.

Student Stories & Features

  • Bethany Howard

    EKU Industrial Organizational Psychology Graduate
The faculty have been extremely supportive of my student journey. Not only have they assisted me throughout the program, they genuinely care about me as a person and the direction my future is headed. They are interested to see how we plan to incorporate what we’ve learned into our own careers.
  • David Dixon

EKU Instructional Design & Learning Technology Graduate
At the end of the day, I chose EKU because it helped me become better at what I care about most—teaching, designing meaningful learning experiences, and supporting students in a way that actually makes a difference.
  • Wyatt Owens

EKU English & History Teaching Graduate
My favorite part about being an EKU student were the bonds I made with my peers and instructors. The community within EKU’s English program is fantastic and each person feels like they have a place. I received support from all of my instructors when I needed it. Without their support, I would not be able to teach and fulfill my other responsibilities now.
