The College of Health Sciences (CHS) collaborated on two student-centered events with EKU Athletics, during the 2021-22 academic year.
The first event in Fall 2021 was a Homecoming football tailgate, utilizing Colonels Courtyard.
The second event in Spring 2022 was a basketball game event, utilizing the Auxiliary Gym in Alumni Coliseum.
The goal for each event was to engage prospective students, current students, and faculty and staff in an event centered around athletics and the student experience they would receive or have at EKU. Student ambassadors from each of the departments were present as well to discuss student life and majors.
This cross-campus collaboration initiative created an inviting and student-centered atmosphere for engagement with faculty, staff, and students from respected departments as well as creating an on-campus student experience that would carry throughout the student’s time at EKU. These events provided a productive environment to connect and benefit students while remaining informal. It is imperative that students feel welcomed on campus and in CHS. The college believes it is essential to create cross-campus experiences that greatly enhance the student experience and involvement on campus.
CHS would like to thank EKU Athletics for their support, collaboration, and dedication to the student experience for all students! The college plans to continue this partnership in the 2022-2023 season as well and increase participation and engagement.
