Study Abroad: Program Options

How to Choose a Program

With so many choices, how can you select the program that’s best for you? You should think about programs that fit into your academic goals and your personal interests.

Visit us in the Education Abroad office anytime between 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Fridays for informal info sessions so that we can get you started on your program search! Continue to search through approved providers listed on our website or come to the Education Abroad Office to discuss the possibilities.

Then, make an appointment with your Academic Advisor to discuss how study abroad can fit into your academic plan.

Fitting Study Abroad Into Your Academic Plan

Knowing where you are in your academic career is essential to choosing the study abroad program that’s right for you. EKU students should carefully monitor their DegreeWorks audit. This report shows which requirements have been completed and which requirements still remain to be completed. If you have not yet declared your major, you can run a “what-if” DegreeWorks audit that will show how close you are to completing your degree and intended major.

EKU Custom Study Abroad Programs

Several EKU faculty members offer custom study abroad programs independent of our study abroad affiliates. The upcoming custom programs can be found on the Study Abroad inEKU page.

Contact the EKU Education Abroad office for more information and details about how to apply.

Full-Semester, Winter, or Summer Abroad Options

EKU has a number of study abroad affiliates or exchange programs from which you can choose. Go for a short term program in Summer or Winter Break, OR choose a longer program that is Full Semester or Academic Year! Select the links below to find out about the programs our partners offer.

Internships

An international internship in your major may be a possibility! Does your degree require an internship? Ask your department chair or advisor if an international internship might be approved, and then see the Education Abroad Office for more details.

Exchanges

Participating in an exchange program means you get to represent EKU at one of our partner universities! We want the best of the best! If you want to show our international partners how amazing EKU students can be, YOU could be selected to represent EKU in Japan, Netherlands, or Mexico! If you are interested in participating in an exchange, please contact the Education Abroad Office for more information.
