Matthew (he/him), CIEGE team member, is an EKU alumnus with a B.A. in Journalism and a Master’s of Science in Mass Communication from Murray State University. He has been working with international students at EKU since 2016. With a decade of experience in the field is well-versed in the field and seeks to provide every student with the information they need as an international student.

Dr. Miles Feroli (he/him) works in the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Global Engagement (CIEGE) as the Program Director for Education and Retention. He aims to empower students by providing them the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive at EKU and beyond. In 2022, Dr. Feroli obtained his doctorate from the University of Kentucky in Gender and Women’s Studies where he studied the ways social identities such as motherhood and fatherhood impact trans people’s ability to access resources. When he’s not at work, Dr. Feroli enjoys reading time travel novels, spending time with his three cats, and catching up with friends.

Anne Goodman (she/her) works in Student Affairs as the Coordinator of Violence Prevention. Anne’s goal is to make our campus a safer place through teaching healthy relationship behaviors, how to spot unhealthy behaviors, intervention techniques for unhealthy and unsafe situations, and making sure consent is understood and utilized. Anne graduated from EKU in 2022 with her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and is currently an Master of Public Health (MPH) candidate at EKU. In her free time, Anne enjoys spending time with her son and their dog, hiking, kayaking, doing yoga, and reading.

Ms. Britany Guerrero (she/her/ella) works in the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Global Engagement (CIEGE) and the Bobby Verdugo & Yoli Rios Bilingual Peer Mentoring & Tutoring Center (El Centro) as the Latino Outreach Coordinator. She is a first-generation Mexicana and earned two degrees in Spanish and Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Physician Assistant studies. Britany enjoys traveling, spending time with both her family and her dog, Canelo. She fosters a sense of comunidad with the saying “Si Se Puede” “Yes, We Can.” as she continues to advocate for students and creates opportunities for student empowerment through SomosEKU.

Martina “MJ” Jackson (she/ella) serves as the Program Director for Civic and Global Engagement at EKU’s Center for Inclusive Excellence and Global Engagement. There she supports students academic, professional and personal development with a focus on civic & global engagement, and leadership development. She is a mother, and a leader working on community centered results and civic engagement. She has supported leadership development for local and state leaders across multiple sectors. MJ is a proud Berea College Alumnae, and obtained her Master of Public Administration degree at Eastern Kentucky University. MJ is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Policy Studies, and Social Justice. Martina is also a New Leaders Council Kentucky and Emerge Kentucky Alumnae. She has also served in various leadership roles as a volunteer for organizations member of her local NAACP chapter, former Berea College Executive Alumni Council member, New Leaders Council-Kentucky, and Progress Kentucky.
