FAQs

The National Student Clearinghouse is the official contracted agent by EKU to produce student enrollment verifications. Students obtain their official verification fast and free through their MyEKU account. Verification is for current term enrollment only. If you utilize the National Student Clearinghouse and are faced with any challenges with printing the certification form, please know that you can go to Big E Central in Whitlock 210 for assistance.

Students should go to MyEKU. The official grade report will provide the student’s GPA and thus verify good student standing for the auto insurance company. This report contains all the required information. Additionally, students receiving a form from their insurance company do have the option to send it electronically to BigECentral@eku.edu or drop it off in person at Big E Central in Whitlock 210.

Students can secure this information using the link below.

Should a current student lose their ID number they should log into MyEKU to retrieve the number. If they are unable to log into MyEKU, they should contact EKU IT at 859-622-3000 or support@eku.edu to have their password reset. If not a currently enrolled student, please use this form.

Students should go to the Academic Computing lab, located in Combs 208. Students may also call 859-622-3000.

The rules for academic fresh start are listed in the EKU Catalog or can be found here. Students can also contact Big E Central at BigECentral@eku.edu or in Whitlock 210 for clarification.

Current students may elect to withdraw from a course, several courses or from the university by accessing their MyEKU and following the prescribed directions for withdrawal. Information on the withdrawal process can be found here. Please be aware that should you choose to withdraw from all your courses in a given semester, a process called Return to Title IV may affect you. Please see here for more information on this. In addition, students intending to begin the withdrawal process should reach out to Big E Central as well as Card Services and Housing as withdrawing from the university can have many implications on their financial aid and bill.

For students who have been admitted and registered, but not attended, please follow the process noted here for the University Non-Participation form.

Students should carefully read the registered letter and email notification sent to them regarding their status. If, after reading the letter or email, you still have questions, please contact Big E Central at BigECentral@eku.edu or 859-622-2106.

If before the Add/Drop Date
To re-register into a dropped class, from the Add/Drop page, click on the arrow next to the action window beside the dropped class. The message will say “Dropped by Web”, but after clicking on the arrow you will see other options. If it is still within the Add/Drop time of the semester one option will be “Reregister Dropped Course”. Choose this action and then at the bottom of the page click on “Submit Changes”. Wait for the page to refresh and verify that the message next to the course changed and there are credit hours associated with the course.

If After the Add/Drop Date
Open registration for the current term closes according to the dates listed in Colonel’s Compass and prevents students from adding additional courses. Review the Deadlines for Add/Drop to ensure you make any changes to your schedule before then.

*Please note that any increases in credit hours after the Add/Drop Deadlines will not be factored into your Federal Financial Aid and therefore will not result in additional aid payments. Please contact Big E Central for more information.

If you need to still need to add a class after the add/drop deadline please complete the Request for Late Enrollment. The form must be completed by all required parties; including the Instructor, Chair, and Dean of the Department and College for which you are requesting the late enrollment. Follow the instructions on the form. The department is required to submit the form on your behalf to the Registrar for processing; forms submitted by students will not be processed.

Students can check Colonel Compass for a definition of the error. There you will find a handy table that lists all possible registration errors, defines each, and suggests actions to take in response. Many errors will require an override logged into the registration system by the department office of the course in question. Remember though that an override is only permission to register, you are not registered into a class until you log into MyEKU and do so yourself. You will be notified via email once your override has been approved.

For unofficial transcripts, Students may secure a copy of their unofficial transcript anytime via their MyEKU account. For official transcripts, Eastern Kentucky University uses the National Student Clearinghouse to process all official transcripts requests (Mail, PDF, Exchange). This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allows you to track your order, and ensures the security of your information and payment. The cost is $13.65 for electronic, $12.65 for US mail, $19.80 for international mail. Expedited delivery is available through the National Student Clearinghouse. Transcript will be mailed within 1-2 business day of order to the recipient for receipt the next or the second business day. Students who attended in the year 1983 and prior do not have the option to order electronically or express. Only standard US and International mail is available for these students.
